Important Points to pay attention to while preparing to join UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) is the most coveted examination the aspirants take to join civil services whether it be IAS (Indian Administrative Services), IFS (Indian Foreign Services), IPS (Indian Police Services, IRS Indian Revenue Services).
The examination for this prestigious service to the country takes place in 3 phases –preliminary – consists of objective type questions as general studies Paper-1 And General studies paper -2, Mains consist of 9-essay type papers out of which 2 papers are for qualifying and the rest 7 papers marks are counted followed by personal interview. The examination results are rolled out in the month of May every year and successful candidates resume their offices following September.

The UPSC aspirants need to be very focused while preparing for the UPSC exam, in 2023
1. Reading Relevant Books
While preparing for the UPSC exam it is very important to read the relevant books on NCERT and CBSE
2. Solving previous year’s question paper and covering the whole syllabus
The candidates must solve and practice previous years' question papers and should touch the whole syllabus.
3. Reading Newspapers
It is advisable for the candidates to read newspapers; it is one of the most important aspects of clearing the UPSC exam. It is important to form a strategy while reading a newspaper from the perspective of the UPSC exam.
4. More and More Revision
More and more revision is required to crack the UPSC exam. With proper revision and multiple times, note revision may be a step for clearing the UPSC. Thus it is important to revise more and more.
5. Solve Mock Tests
The aspirants should solve the mock tests and evaluate and revise the same very often to memorize the facts and information for examinations. Analysis of the mock test will enable the candidates to weigh their weaker and stronger areas and where they need to put thrust on for better study.

UPSC CSE 2023 Syllabus
UPSC syllabus is vast and lengthy and it requires full 2 years of dedicated hard work to clear the examination. The examination includes almost all the subjects of the Indian education system be it Current Affairs, Geography, Science and Technology, History, Indian Polity, Economics, English, and Mathematics.
UPSC CSE 2023 Important Dates are always to keep in mind while preparing for the D-day examination. All the subjects are required to learn on regular basis and need rigorous practice and learning the most important books are from NCERT and CBSE books of 9 to 12th std
UPSC CSE 2023 Admit Card
UPSC Admit card is rolled out on the official website of the UPSC and the hall ticket is released in the online format. For prelims and mains, the hall tickets are issued separately. It is mandatory to note that the candidates who only clear prelims are allowed to sit for the mains. Hence they receive separate admit cards at the time of the main examination. It is important to note that without the UPSC IAS hall ticket and original ID proof the candidate will not be allowed to sit for the UPSC examination.
UPSC CSE 2023 Exam Pattern
UPSC examination is 3 phase examination. Phase 1 is the preliminary examination that is based on objective type questions (multiple choice questions) from various subjects like mathematical Data interpretation, Logical reasoning, Basic numerical questions, reading comprehension, vocabulary, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs. Phase 2 of the examination consists of essay-type questions followed by phase 3 personal interviews etc. The is a scope of negative marking also with every wrong answer i.e.0.33
UPSC CSE2023 Eligibility Criteria
UPSC CSE 2023 has eligibility criteria as 21 years for the general category, for the OBC category, and for SC/ST and the maximum age is 32 years for the general category, 35 years for the OBC category, and 37 years for SC/ST. UPSC has 3 important eligibility terms such as age, qualification, and nationality. Eventually, there is no pass percentage is required for passing graduation.
