Candidates who are interested in being admitted to the programme are needed to take the JEE Advanced test and take part in the JoSAA counselling to be considered. It is recommended that candidates for the BTech programme at IIT Patna have a JEE Advanced rank between 1849 and 14216. The overall cost of the Bachelor of Technology programme, which lasts for four years, is INR 6.98 Lacs. The application fees for those who belong to the SC or ST category are waived completely.

In addition, a one-year Post Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence is available via the IIT Patna. The tuition for the 2-semester programme at the institution is 1,29,800 Indian Rupees. TAccording to the NIRF rankings for 2022, the IIT Patna BTech programme is placed 33rd in the engineering category.
