NDA EXAMINATION
NDA stands for National Defence Academy. NDA Examination is one of those prominent examinations of India that, by cracking can land you up in the Indian Defence Forces/Services i.e., Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Indian Army. But cracking this exam isn’t a cakewalk. You need high dedication and a proper strategy to qualify all the stages of NDA. Let’s start with the basic information and then we’ll be covering all the topics one by one. So, the name of the examination is NDA (National Defence Academy) and NA(Naval Academy). It is a Nation Level Examination conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year- NDA I and NDA II in Offline mode. The candidates need to undergo a two-step process to get selected- first the exam and then the personality test or the interview which is conducted by the Service Selection Board (SSB).You can give this examination after completing your class 12th. The examination paper is set in two languages Hindi and English.
For qualifying for the NDA Exam, you need to be physically fit. Factors like eyesight, weight and height are also measured. So, you need to keep all these criteria in mind before applying.

- UPSC released the notification of NDA and NA (I) on December 22, 2021. The last date to fill out the application form was January 11, 2022.
- The written exam will be conducted offline across multiple exam centres in various cities on April 10, 2022.

UPSC will release the notification of NDA and NA (II) on May 18, 2022. The last date to fill out the application form was June 14, 2022.

ELIGIBILITY
AGE CRITERIA
Candidates (male or female) appearing for NDA (1) exam, should be born not earlier than July 2, 2003, and not later than July 1, 2006. And the candidates (male or female) appearing for NDA (2) exam, should be born not earlier than January 2, 2003, and not later than January 1, 2006.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
The candidates who are applying for the Army Wing of National Defence Academy (NDA) must have passed class 12thof the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination regulated by a State Board or a University.
The candidates who are applying for Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy (NDA) must have passed class 12th of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics as well as Mathematics regulated by a StateBoard or a University.
REGISTRATION
NDA registration is the first step of the selection process. The NDA exam registration form is available only on the official website of the UPSC.
Here is the procedure to fill up the application form:
- Visit www.upsconline.nic.in
- Click on the “Apply Online” tab
- After that, select the “Online Application for Various Examinations”
- Next, click the “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC”
- Start filling up the registration form
- Pay the NDA application fees(For General / OBC NDAapplication fee is INR 100/-)(For Women / SC / ST the NDA application fee is nil)
- Upload the scanned photograph and signature
- Click on “Agree to the Declaration”
- Now, Apply.

NDA examinationcontainsquestions from the following topics:
- Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Trigonometry, Analytic Geometry of Two and Three Dimension and Statistics, Vector Algebra and Probability.
- General Ability Test (GAT): GAT syllabus of NDA is divided into 2 parts. Part A comprises of questions from English and Part B comprises of questions from General Knowledge.
The level of the examination is of Classes 10, 11, and 12 standards.

- Admit Card for NDA (1) examination 2022 has been released on March 14, 2022.
- • The exam will be held on April 10, 2022, in two shifts- 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 pm.

What is the cut-off for NDA written exam?
Ans. The cut-off changes every year and is dependent on the difficulty level of the question paper. The cut-off for the last 3 years was between 320 to 350 marks.

Ans. No, are not given any salary in their 3 years training period.
