UTTAR PRADESH COMBINED ENTRANCE TEST(UPCET)

The Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) Examination, also known as Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Examination is an entrance test conducted by the university for various UG and PG courses. It is conducted at the state level every year.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• There are no age limits for this examination. Indian/NRI/FN/PIO candidates are also eligible. School students who are appearing for their 12th grade are eligible to apply for UG courses.
• Candidates who have passed Intermediate of U.P. Board or (10+2) standard from other board with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/ Biology are eligible for admission to the first year of 4-year B.Tech. Courses offered by Colleges/Institutions of U.P. affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. Candidates who have passed Intermediate of U.P. Board or (10+2) standard from other board with Agriculture are only eligible for admission to the first year of 4-year B.Tech. (Agriculture Engineering) offered by Colleges/Institutions of U.P. affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow
• For PG admission, students appearing in the last year of their qualifying degree can apply

Based on subjects, the eligibility is as follows:

• For B. Tech courses Intermediate (UP Board) or 12th or its equivalent with Chemistry and Physics as compulsory+ (Biology/Bio-Technology/Chemistry/ Technical vocational subject).
• For B. Tech Biotech- Intermediate or 12th or it's equivalent with subject’s physics-mathematics/biology as compulsory + (Biotechnology/chemistry/technical vocational subject), with a minimum mark of 45% in 3 subjects, 40% – SC/ST.
• For B. Tech Agriculture Intermediate or 12th of agriculture stream + Any Subject from (Agriculture stream), with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate of 3 subjects, SC/ST- 40%
• B.Pharma: Passed 12th level with Physics & Chemistry subjects and anyone among Mathematics/ Bio-Technology/ Biology / Technical Vocational subjects with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
• BBA: Passed 10+2 level from any recognized board with an aggregate of 55% marks (50% for SC/ ST category).
• For the PG courses, it is required the candidate passes the UG qualification with a minimum of 50% marks, and it is 45% for SC/ST candidates.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

• Navigate to the official site of UPTU and click on the APPLY ONLINE button.
• Post-reading the instructions, fill in your personal details as mentioned in your Aadhar profile.
• After validating the Aadhar, enter the address with password and security details.
• After Reviewing the application form, click on the Final Submit button.
• Complete the Application form by carefully noting down the application number.
• After this process, the candidate has to complete his/her profile.
• Fill in the personal and educational details.
• Next step is to choose the course of interest you are applying for.
• Any 3 choices are to be provided for the examination center location.
• Enter the security pin to submit this form.
• Now, please review the dialog box and proceed with the final submission.
• Proceed forward to upload the scanned documents of photograph ad signature. The basic instructions include: both the photograph and signature should be less than 50 KB.
• After clicking on upload, proceed to the payments page.
• The application fee will be Rs 1300 for Male/Transgender Candidates (GEN and OBC Category) and Rs 650 for SC/ST/PH/Women Candidates.
• Download the confirmation page and save it after successful payment.

EXAM HIGHLIGHTS

• The examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• It’s conducted in the online mode, for 2 -3 hours, (varies branch-wise).
• The question type is objective, with Multiple Choices, except the drawings for architecture entrance.
• The total marks are 300 for M.Tech. (Civil Engineering / Computer science & Engineering/IT / Electrical Engineering / Electronics & Communications Engg. and Mechanical Engineering, 400 for BHMCT, BFA, BFAD, B. Voc., BBA, and MBA(Integrated), B. Tech. (Lateral Entry for Diploma Holders), MCA (Integrated), B. Des, B. Pharm, MCA, and 600 for B. Tech courses.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS(FAQ)

I am getting a pop-up “you have entered the invalid details or you are not eligible for counselling”.

Ans. Check whether you have entered details in the online form exactly as given in your admit card or scorecard of the corresponding exam i.e JEE(Mains)-2021 or UPCET2021. For example, if you have entered your mother’s name as “Mrs. Suman Kumari” in admit card then you must enter the same name including salutation (Suman Kumari will be considered as an invalid entry) or if you have entered your mother’s name as “Suman Kumari” in admit card then you must enter the same name including salutation (Mrs. Suman Kumari will be considered as an invalid entry).

What do I have to choose in “Type of registration”?Ans. Select any of the three types;

• Note: - Separate aptitude tests are conducted for Architecture, MBA, and lateral entries from diploma.
• Both UPCET and JEE (Mains) (have both JEE(Main) & UPCET Rank): If you have appeared in both JEE(Main) & UPCET.
• Only UPCET (UG) course candidate (have only UPCET Rank).

I have chosen the wrong type of registration type during the new Candidate registration? What can I do?

I have moderate scores in JEE and UPCET, can I try through both the scores.?

Ans. No, only one choice of registration is allowed for a candidate.
