1. SRMIST Ball Badminton team men Display Standards for Skill and Sportsmanship

SRMIST Ball Badminton team for men has made the University proud by clinching the gold medal in 5th State level in the sports tournament. The tournament was held in May 2023 where all the team players exhibited sheer abilities and sportsmanship to bagged the Trophy to their name.

2. National Millet Summit – 2023 was organized by SRM- NIFTEM Chennai

National Millet summit-2023 was organized by the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Thanjavur (NIFTEM -T & SRM Institute of Science and Technology as a part of the International Year of Millets. India is one of the largest producer of Millets in the world and its further production will benefit all sections of society in terms of health and revenue earnings.

3. SRMIST has a dedicated Lab for Electronics Cooling and CFD Slim Lab as part in University’s Centre for Excellence

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has established a lab dedicated for technical excellence. It gives ample opportunity to students for research and development and skill acquisition. It is the first of its kind institution to offer full-time electives for learners and a full-fledged M.Tech course specializing in electronics cooling.

4. Internship on Jal Dharohar Sanrakshan in the Name of Sarovar

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Indian independence and a joint drive was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) with a view to protect and rejuvenate local water bodies across the country.

5. Alumni Meet at SRM Institute of Medical and Health Sciences with Over 1600 Participants Hosted

On 29th April the institute hosted its first Alumni meet with over 1600 alumni participating from different batches across various branches and varied Faculty members. It has evolved during the period of 1992 to 2006 and is still evolving with 100% placement of all the pass outs and currently holding respectable positions in the medical fraternity. Some of the departments that were covered at the alumni meet viz. Public Health and Allied Health Sciences , Speech therapy, Nursing, Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Dental, departments were converged.

6.“SWAYAM” Digital Initiative of Govt. of India Workshop

A workshop was organized on Digital India to provide quality education to all nooks and corners of the country through digital learning. The workshop was organized by the College of Science and Humanities and the Directorate of Distant Education, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, the main objective of this workshop is to make people aware of online learning platforms and their benefits for future education models.

7. A workshop organized on Emerging Photovoltaic Technologies

The workshop is curate by the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology, Department of Chemistry & Directorate of Research, SRM IST, partnered with the University of Cologne, Germany, and supported by Indo-German Science and Technology Centre where Hydrogen economy and renewable energy are some key areas to focus on for more renewable and eco-friendly energy. Hydrogen Technologies especially the hydrogen peroxide compounds give significant thrust.
