Introduction

Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), located in Krishnankoil, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1984 by the Kalasalingam Anandam Ammal Charities, KARE has grown into a notable institution. It obtained Deemed to be University status in 2006. The University has a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various fields, including engineering, technology, humanities, and sciences.

KARE is the first Indian institution to offer a special B-Tech course in engineering for differently abled students, particularly the speech and hearing impaired. ABET has simultaneously accredited 11 programs at KARE, making it the only institution in India to do so. The NAAC has re-accredited the University with an 'A' grade and a CGPA of 3.11.

The University has a state-of-the-art IRC with superb high-end instruments for advanced research in material sciences and life sciences. It has modern facilities, including state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries, and research centers. As a part of KARE international collaborations, the University has signed a MoU with several foreign universities. To gain international exposure, under this MoU, students can spend one or two semesters at the selected partner universities.

Admission

Every year, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education releases admission notices on its official website. Application Process

The KARE application process at the University is an online process that involves five steps. The following are the steps involved -

The application fee is non-refundable. The email ID submitted at the time of registration will be used by the University for all correspondence until enrollment is completed. A change of email ID is not allowed.

Selection Process

Selection is based on performance in the entrance exam for the entrance based courses and marks obtained in the qualifying examination for merit based UG and PG courses. For PhD courses, selection is based on performance in the written test and interview. To gain admission to a specific course, candidates must also meet the eligibility criteria. A merit list is prepared based on the qualifying exam for merit-based admissions and the entrance exam results for entrance-based admissions.
