Introduction

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur (AIIMS Raipur) is a public medical college and medical research university located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It is one of the six AIIMs established in 2012. It operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (India) and the Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). The institute provides various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in the fields of medicine, dentistry, and nursing.

In 2013, the Pradhan Mantri Swastya Surakha Yojana (PMSSY) established the College of Nursing at AIIMS Raipur, offering BSc Nursing as a course. Presently, the institute is offering BSc and MSc nursing courses. The main objective is to train nurse clinicians, clinical nurse specialists, and advanced nurse practitioners.

Admission

A centralized process is followed for AIIMS Raipur nursing admission to nursing courses. AIIMS Delhi conducts the admission process and releases the admission details prior to the commencement of the admission process.

AIIMS Raipur BSc Course

• The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
• The candidate should have attained or will attain the age of 17 years as of the 31st of December of the year of admission.
• The candidates must have passed the 12th grade under the 10+2 scheme, Senior School Certificate Examination, Intermediate Science, or an equivalent examination from a recognized university or board of any Indian state with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

AIIMS Raipur MSc Course

• BSc (Hons.) Nursing/BSc Nursing (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic/BSc Nursing (4 years) course from any recognized university, from an educational institution recognized by the State Nursing Council, with 60% marks for Gen/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates (55% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates).
• Registration as a nurse, RN, or RM (registered nurse, registered midwife) with any state nursing council.

AIIMS Raipur Nursing Application Process

• The AIIMS Raipur nursing application process is an online application for both UG and PG-level courses.
• Once the candidate applies, the institute sends a status update on basic registration.
• The students have the option to correct any deficiencies in their application. The students need to correct the application form within the dates provided for correction.
• The institute determines the final status of basic registration.
• A code for final registration is generated.
• Only those who have generated a code for final registration can proceed with the final registration process, which includes paying fees and choosing a city.
• The final status of the application has been uploaded. If the application is rejected, then the reason for the rejection is also uploaded.

• Admission to UG and PG courses is made entirely on the basis of the performance of candidates at the entrance exam conducted by AIIMS Delhi.
• The entrance exam for UG is conducted in all major cities in India. Whereas, the PG course entrance exam is conducted in Delhi/NCR only.
• The counseling process is conducted once the candidates clear the entrance exam. Various rounds of counseling are conducted until the seats are filled.
