Introduction

Christian Medical College & Hospital (popularly known as CMC Ludhiana) was established in 1894. This institute is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions. It was founded by the medical missionary Dr. Edith Mary Brown. The mission was to provide quality healthcare and medical education in North India. Various undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered at this institute, including nursing courses.

The nursing education at CMC Ludhiana is imparted through the College of Nursing. The School of Nursing was upgraded to the College of Nursing in 1973, with students admitted to the BSc Nursing course. The first batch of BSc nursing students graduated in April 1977. The College of Nursing is situated on a large campus on Brown Road, not far from Ludhiana Railway Station. The campus has residential quarters for the staff and hostels for nursing students. • The candidates must have cleared Post-Basic BSc Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot / Panjab University, Chandigarh, or BSc Nursing examination of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot / Panjab University, Chandigarh, or any other BSc Nursing examination recognized by the Syndicate of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, or Post Basic BSc (IGNOU) only from Centers recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM CMC Ludhiana)

• Candidates for admission must be at least 17 years of age on December 31st of the admitting year and not more than 35 years of age.
• Candidates must have passed 10+2 class or its equivalent with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) or Arts with English and an aggregate of 40% marks.

CMC Ludhiana Nursing Application Process:

• CMC Ludhiana nursing admissions are based on merit obtained in the Admission Written Test conducted by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society and the result of the counseling process conducted. The counseling process is conducted only for candidates who clear the entrance exam.
