Admission
St. John’s Medical College nursing Eligibility
Basic B.Sc- Nursing Course
- The candidates should have competed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the admitting year.
- Minimum educational qualification is pass in the Pre-University Examination of Karnataka Board of Pre-University Education with an aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% for SC, ST& OBC candidates) or any other examination recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences as equivalent to 2 years PUC. Pass in English subject in PUC is mandatory.

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Course
- Not above 47 years of age
- Pass in Pre-University Examination of Karnataka or its equivalent which is recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences
- Possess certificates of General Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized School of Nursing
- Be a Registered Nurse under any State Nursing Council
- Be a Member of TNAI
General Nursing & Midwifery Course
- Minimum age for admission will be 17 years and there is no age bar
- Pass in 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School) recognized by Central Government. However, Science is preferable. OR 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.

M.Sc. Nursing course
- Minimum educational qualification is B.Sc. Nursing Degree / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka or any other University considered equivalent by the RGUHS.
- Registration with State Nursing Council.
- One year Experience in any clinical / teaching areas, either in a hospital or in a community. For P.B.B.Sc. Nursing Candidates, one year experience can be either before or after P.B.B.Sc. Nursing degree.
- Candidate should have scored at least 55% aggregate marks in first attempt at the final B.Sc. /P.B.B.Sc. Nursing Examination. For SC/ST of Karnataka State only 50% marks required.
M.Sc.(N) Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care Nursing
- Applicants must possess a registered B.Sc. Nursing Degree / PBB.Sc Nursing with a minimum of one-year clinical experience in any critical care setting prior to enrolment.
- Must have undergone B.Sc. Nursing in an institution recognized by INC.
- Candidate should have scored at least 55% aggregated marks in first attempt at the final B.Sc. /P.B.B.Sc. Nursing Examination.
- Should be a registered nurse in state nursing council.

St. John’s Medical College nursing admission process
For Basic B.Sc. Nursing, candidates need to appear for the KCET examination conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Once the results are declared, a counseling round is conducted for the candidates who clear the entrance exam. The selection is based on the counseling round and verification of documents. For the rest of the courses, the selection is based on an interview conducted by the institute, subject to verification of documents.
