Admission

NIU admissions for various courses happen through the NSAT (NIU Scholarship cum Admission Test) for Technical Programs or through GD/PI for non-technical programs. The university also considers State-level and National-level entrance exams like JEE & CUET. Admissions to all programs being offered at NIU are made as per the eligibility norms of UGC /BCI /NMC/UPSMF/ INC/IAP/ NCTE/PCI/University Academic Council.

The whole NIU application process is online, and the payment process is both online and offline. The applications must be completed in all aspects and submitted for admission along with the required documents. During the process of application, the applicants are required to pay the application fee prescribed. The applicants should ensure that the details filled in the application form are correct.

Upon successful verification of the applicant’s eligibility and submitted documents, the detailed schedule for the entrance test/GD PI, including date, time, and venue, will be sent to them on their registered email ID. Upon selection, applicants must immediately pay the semester/annual fee to reserve their seat. If they don't, another applicant may get the seat.

The University issues an offer / provisional admission letter if the student qualifies in the appeared examination or fulfills the eligibility criteria. Provisional admission letter will only be issued once the semester/annual fee payment is confirmed from the accounts department of the university.
