Teaching is deeply rooted in Santiniketan’s cultural ethos, encouraging creativity, experimentation, and a strong connection with rural and folk traditions.
It is home to legendary artists like Nandalal Bose, Ramkinkar Baij, and Benode Behari Mukherjee and is widely regarded as one of India’s most influential art institutions. As part of the Santiniketan campus, Kala Bhavana also contributes to the UNESCO World Heritage character of the area, symbolizing Tagore’s vision of art and education as a unified, humanistic pursuit.
