IIT Palakkad

Introduction

Both of IIT Palakkad's campuses are presently being used for operational purposes. Students from their first and second years are now residing at the temporary campus in Kozhippara. Only a minor fraction of the permanent campus at Kanjikode is dedicated to housing for students in their third and fourth years. The construction of the permanent campus has not yet begun, but 534 acres of land have been set aside for it. On the other hand, the temporary campus has a total area of 55,000 square feet, is fully furnished with academic classrooms, a seminar room, an auditorium, a conference room, a workshop, a library, a canteen, labs, and faculty offices, and is located off-site.

IIT Palakkad is one of the five new IITs that were formed as part of India's Union Budget. At the moment, there are 978 students enrolled at the institution, in addition to 94 teaching staff members, 34 technical staff members, and 24 administrative staff members. IIT Palakkad provides Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MSc), and Master of Science (MS) degrees in a total of eight different specialisations.
