Introduction

IIT Roorkee is the oldest technological institution in Asia and currently holds the number six spot on the NIRF's Engineering rankings. Additionally, the institution has been named number one in India for courses related to architecture. IIT Roorkee is home to more than 8,000 students, 470 teaching staff members, and 250 patent applications. With a total of 23 academic departments, 3 centres of excellence, 5 academic service centres, and 3 supporting units, this institution is among the most extensive and comprehensive technical educational facilities in India. For admission into the programme, candidates must have a JEE Advanced rank in the range of 32 to 7000. The tuition for the programme at IIT Roorkee is INR 1,48,000 per semester for students who fall under the Gen/OBC category. This includes the tuition price of INR 1 Lac, which is only required to be paid by students who fall under the General or Other Backward Classes category. IIT Roorkee B.Tech

According to the results of the NIRF 2022 evaluations, IIT Roorkee BTech came in sixth place. The programme has a total capacity of 893 seats for new participants to join. In addition to the BTech curriculum that lasts for four years, the school also provides an integrated MTech programme that lasts for five years and combines BTech and MTech degrees. IIT Roorkee's Integrated MTech programme has two extra specialisations, namely Geophysical Technology and Geological Technology, which may be chosen by students.

IIT Roorkee M.Tech

The graduate-level MTech programme at IIT Roorkee lasts for two years. To participate in the MTech programme at the institution, one must pay a total of INR 45,750. There are 40 different areas of concentration in IIT Roorkee's Master of Technology programme, and it's open to three different types of students. Positions might be ordinary full-time, sponsored full-time, or sponsored part-time. GATE scores and COAP counselling are used to determine who gets into the full-time normal MTech programme.

The GATE score is not required for admission to the Full-time Sponsored programme. If the applicant does well in the interview, they will be accepted. The GATE test requirement is waived for applicants who are Sponsored on a part-time basis. Only applicants with a permanent Roorkee address will be considered for admission under this criterion. These MTech courses range in length from one modality to the next.

IIT Roorkee MBA

The Management category of the NIRF rankings for 2022 places IIT Roorkee MBA in the 19th position. The programme is provided by the Department of Management Studies at IIT Roorkee, and it may be taken in one of five different specialities. The total cost of the two-year MBA programme at the school is 8,280,000 Indian Rupees. The MBA programme has a total of 95 available seats for new students to enrol each year.

Scores on the CAT test, as well as rounds of group discussion and individual interviews administered by the Department, are used to choose candidates for the programme. Applicants who have finished their undergraduate studies at IIT with a cumulative grade point average of 7.0 or above do not need to submit their CAT results to be considered for admission. The minimal requirements for admission are two years of professional experience in addition to a CAT score that is in the 95th percentile.

IIT Roorkee Online Courses

IIT Roorkee has recently begun offering a wide variety of online and crash courses. IIT Roorkee's E-Learning Centre (ELC) now provides a total of 516 online courses, including both short-term and massive open online courses (MOOCs). In addition, the E&ICT Academy at IIT Roorkee provides online certification as well as programmes for the advancement of professors. Both the short-term classes and the massive open online courses (MOOCs) are available to students from any institution or university.

While the certification and FDPs are intended only for students, working professionals, and faculty members, they are open to anybody interested. Fees ranging from 20,000 to 175,000 Indian Rupees (INR) are required to participate in the certificate and advanced certificate programmes respectively. IIT Roorkee Scholarships

The institution offers a variety of scholarship programmes and financial help to its students. All deserving and underprivileged students are eligible to apply for any of the available scholarship programmes. Some of the most prominent IIT Roorkee scholarship programmes are listed below:

James Thomason Scholarship

The James Thomason Scholarship is available to students having an AIR of up to 250. The scholarship will provide INR 25,000 per month to qualifying students with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 in each academic year.

Scholarship for SC/ST/PH

Tuition fees are waived for students in the SC/ST/PH categories. This plan allows students to get a complete tuition cost waiver.

Air CMDR Shyam Chand Mehra Scholarship

This grant is available to B.Tech female Electrical Engineering students at IITR. Students with better CGPAs in their first and second years will be granted INR 10,000 each year. Students with a better CGPA in their fourth year will be granted INR 15,000 every year.

Naveen & Anu Jain Scholarship

Naveen & Anu Jain scholarships are offered to IIT Roorkee BTech students whose yearly family income is less than INR 2 lakhs. Students enrolled in this initiative will get INR 1,000 each month for ten months.

IIT Roorkee Faculty

It is well-recognised that the Institute's faculty members have a wealth of expertise and education. Each division extends an invitation to excellent, prospective, and motivated applicants.
